US Food Bloggers Face Devastating Setback as Mexico Suspends Avocado Exports

UNITED STATES – The ongoing trade war between the United States and Mexico has reached a new, devastating chapter, as Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum’s latest countermeasures target a crucial consumer product: avocados.

I don’t know what to do without avocados! My life is ruined!” Such are the desperate cries flooding social media in response to the suspension of avocado exports. The move comes in retaliation for President Donald Trump’s recent imposition of 25% tariffs on all Mexican goods. The entire food blogger industry, which provides no real value, is dependent on the fruit.

US Food Blogger Community Faces Financial Collapse

The blow is severe for the US food blogger community, which relies heavily on the prized fruit for its content. “I go through 3-4 avocados per post. I spread them on toast, take a picture, and post it. Now, I can’t continue creating this high-level content,” sobs one influencer in an emotional Instagram video, while he desperately tries to spread a potato on his toast.

Alaska: A New Frontier for Avocado Production?

President Donald Trump, unfazed by the Mexican move, remains resolute in his response. “We have plenty of fertile land, especially in Alaska. The most fertile land ever. They should grow many new and beautiful avocados there.”

Meanwhile, experts warn that further retaliatory actions from Mexico could soon target other beloved US food staples, such as corn, potatoes, and even fentanyl, raising fears of a wider food supply crisis.
